On June 10, 2011, IPNE announced that Dan Nigloschy had been brought on board as its new Executive Director. He assumes the responsibilities, taking the reins from Steve Carlson who filled the position on an interim basis since January.
Nigloschy, of Bedford MA, is charged with directing all major membership, administrative, and new program initiatives under the guidance of IPNE’s Board of Directors. He brings more than 30 years of publishing technology experience to his leadership role in IPNE. He spent many years selling advertising and editorial systems to major U.S. and European newspapers working for DuPont, first in Boston, then in London and Paris, while heading up their European newspaper systems group. Most recently he's worked with book publishers implementing content management and editorial workflow systems, and is an acknowledged expert in the area of XML publishing technology.
"I was drawn to the position because I believe that independents will play an increasingly major role in future publishing", said Nigloschy. “For publishing, this is a pivotal moment. The digital transformation has profoundly affected the industry, and the pace of change continues at a dizzying rate. I look forward to working closely with the IPNE board to develop innovative ideas, programs, and tools and help position our members to adapt, flourish and profit in the new publishing ecosystem".
