Book #1 Description
When the mapmaker of Tilley Pond goes missing, Els Oot the mouse volunteers to look for him. What he didn't expect when he volunteered was that he would be traveling with the grumpy Ice Perka - whom folks around the Pond described as the "meanest person alive."

With the help of an easily excitable bird, a nervous cricket and, unexpectedly, even the grumpy Ice Perka, Els begins a journey that takes him far from the safety of Tilley Pond.

He discovers a world of challenges and dangers but also a world full of beauty, wonder and new friends that admire him for his kindness and steadfastness. Most of all, Els comes to learn about the strength of friendship and the magic that comes from following one's own heart and discovering one's calling in the world.

Illustrated with 32 black and white drawings.

Book #2 Description
While conducting a lake survey one fall morning with Tonk the mapmaker and Trillo the cricket, Els Oot the mouse makes an astounding discovery. He spies a baby dragon behind a bush. Alone. Crying.

The discovery leads Els and his companions on a journey to the far-off Golden Mountains. Their mission: return the baby dragon to her home. The journey is not an easy one. Chased by vultures and often hindered by difficult terrain, the mapmakers, the baby dragon and a feisty porcupine named Melvin find that they need to tap into every last ounce of their own resourcefulness and courage.

Where courage itself is not enough, Els discovers that sometimes aid (and laughter) can come from the unexpected kindness of strangers - from a funny fish that drinks bubbly water in a stream to hedge hogs bowling in the meadow grass by a bonfire. Through the mystery of dragon stones, the terror of a dark wind brought forth by vultures and the exhilaration of riding on a flying dragon, Els persists, believing, as Tonk says, that "There's always someone watching out for small animals."

Els Oot and the Baby Dragon is a sequel to Els Oot and the Mapmaker but may be read as a stand-alone book. It is intended for grade 3 or grade 4 readers and above. Included at the end of the book as bonus material is the legend of the venomous vultures known as the Myriak, as told by Tonk, the Mapmaker of Tilley Pond.

Text is complemented with 32 black & white illustrations.

Book #3 Description
Do you ever dream of discovering a city made up of tree houses? Or riding on a giant turtle or a bat? Or floating down river on a hand-made boat surrounded by a flotilla of equally fun and wacky floating contraptions? Els the mouse, together with his companions from Tilley Pond, embarks on a wondrous journey into the wilds in search of the fabled Lost City, a city built high among the tree tops of a tupelo swamp. The journey begins with a visit from a miniature raccoon who reveals a secret from the past of Els’s mentor, the mapmaker of Tilley Pond. In episodes filled with excitement and humor, Els discovers new friends that help him in his quest, from what appeared at first to be a gruff and ill-natured bat to an artsy squirrel on a leaf parade to odd pilgrims engaged in a one-of-a-kind boat race down the Micmac River. While dangers abound (hungry hawks, floods, bat-filled caves, a venomous plant known as the Venus Mousetrap), Els’s journey is also filled with the wonder of the marshlands, forests, rivers and the tupelo swamp. Be lost in the world of Tilley Pond, a world filled with music, wonder and friendships. Travel with Els on his quest to find the Lost City!
