Connecticut IPNE members Dr. Anselm Anyoha and his wife at the NEAE 2013.

Look for IPNE intern Kara Joyce and Metro Boston branch member Katie Li to be roaming the aisles at the New England Author Expo on Weds. July 30 at the Danversport Yacht Club. The event runs from 4-9 pm and is free to the public.

Having grown in size and importance in the past few years, the NEAE attracts many successful New England independent authors, illustrators, publishers, writers' groups, schools and related vendors. It is an excellent place to network, meet authors, get information, and buy books.

NEAE founder and producer is Chris Obert of Pear Tree Publishing.

Co-hosts for Indie Office Hours are IPNE co-president Charlotte Pierce and Laura Williams of the GoodInklings content management firm.

Please share the IPNE love!

Bring your notepads! Our speaker for the monthly Metro Boston Meeting on Sat. July 26th will be none other than Steven R. Porter (above left, staffing the bookstore at the IPNE conference in April) of Stillwater River Publications and founding director of ARIA, the Association of Rhode Island Authors. Come hear Steve's invaluable tips on finding and securing speaking venues, doing book signings "right", and creating engaging displays for trade shows. We'll meet from 10am-12pm at the historic Jefferson Cutter House, 611 Massachusetts Ave., in the heart of Arlington, MA. RSVP here.

Our next informal coffee hour will be on August 28th at 7 pm at the Kickstand Cafe at 594 Massachusetts Ave. in Arlington Center, an independent local business with delicious food. We welcome members' suggestions for topics and presenters for upcoming Metro Boston speaker meetings.
